About Olive
Olive McLeod has been riding for 9 years and is gaining valuable experience training her own ponies Bailey, Poppy, Timmy, Angel, Bacardi and the miniature Misty. She has undertaken coaching from international horsemanship clinician and trainer Russell Higgins, and Zane Scott in Whanganui. Olive's passion for teaching young and inexperienced ponies like her own to become an awesome partner for someone is rare. She loves training the ponies seeing them help their riders learn with them.
Olive has a fun, natural, and connected approach to her training, which sees her creating a welcoming and happy atmosphere for the horses. She understands the importance of horses being free to learn at their own pace, and for them to gradually build trust and confidence.
The vision
Olive's favourite part of the work she does is the amazing feeling of getting a breakthrough with a difficult behaviour or pony that she has been working with. And if you ask her, nothing beats competing on a pony that she has taught everything to.
Her vision is to one day have her own farm with stables where kids can come and ride with their friends and make amazing memories while they learn skills that are applicable to all areas of life.
